Lembata is one of the name of the cluster in East Flores regency which has been popular in the communty since 196. But before it was known by the name of Lembata, formerly in the region of the Dutch indies until now known in the map of Indonesia with the name "Lomblen island". On June 24, 1967 held an extraordinary congress working committee held lembata distric formation in Lewoleba who later confirmed the name of Lembata. Inauguration of the name "Lembata" is according to historical origin of the island communities "Lephanbaten" which began July 01,1967 the term for which the original the inhabitants"Lomblen people" changes to Lembata people.
